A too much day

We are having a too much day at our house. We just got back from a few days in NC visiting Susan's parents - a trip that entails a 12 hour drive over 2 days with a hotel stay (hotel stays do NOT go well). We are having a new roof put on - the roofers came at 5:45 am. Our house is messy because John and I were sick before we left AND now, Samantha has a stomach virus. So everything is a bit too much today. BUT! We are taking heart because we do not rely on our own strength, but the strength that God gives us.

Psalm 103

¹³ As a father has compassion on His children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him;

¹⁴ for He knows how we are formed,
He remembers that we are dust.

......

¹⁷ But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD's love is with those who fear Him,
and His righteousness with their children's children-

¹⁸ with those who keep His covenant
and remember to obey His precepts.

This is what is keeping us going through a "too much" day - that the Lord is with us and He knows what we can handle. Praise God that we are not in this alone.
