Christmas tree time!

Today and tonight, we put up our tree and decorated it. (Pictures to come later) The girls and I did most of the work in the morning because John needed to work. After supper, we all hung up the remaining ornaments - the breakable ones. It was wonderful time interspersed with fussings and some whining thrown in, but it's normal, especially close to bedtime. The girls were so excited about the tree, they just didn't know what to do.

Once we were done, we sang the first verse to "Joy to the World" - a favorite at our house. I wish I could describe with words how wonderful it was to be sitting in our home with daughters on our lap worshipping the Lord by the light of our tree. It gave me a feeling of peace and contentment that I hope to never forget. We then had our normal prayer time to the light of the tree. In the midst of gathering presents for everyone and making sure that presents to those far away get sent in time, it was nice just to sit and be a family. God is good to us.
