The tonsils are hanging around!

Alexandra has had night terrors and nightmares for over a year and a half now. We started suspecting sleep apnea before Samantha was born, but well, then Samantha was born and our whirlwind started. Now that we are FINALLY settled, we talked to Alexandra's pediatrician about her night terrors. She referred us to an ENT and he pronounced that Alexandra's tonsils are big, but not too big. So, our pediatrician went the extra mile and called a sleep doctor at the Children's Hospital in St. Louis and the sleep doctor said that Alexandra needs a sleep study done. Apparently it takes months to get in, but we are on the cancellation list - if someone cancels we get a call. Praise God that John has a job in which his work is portable and somewhat flexible work hours. We will see what the sleep study turns up. Hopefully, we can get a good night's sleep between now and then. We are just so thankful that we have a pediatrician who was willing to work extra hard for us to find answers.

Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

And now Alexandra gets to type because she has been patient on my lap:

HI, I am a friend of Jodi's and I stumbled upon your blog. My daughter too had night terrors and sleep apnea, after much debate and sleepness nights her ENT decided to take out her tonsils and adnoids...which by the way were infected and way to big for her sweet little face. The sugery was easy, recovery rough, but her life and sleep has greatly improved buy going that route. Not an easy choice to make for sure but was the best choice fro my princess... may God grant you peace, wisdom and insight as you parent your princess.
