Quick update...

We haven't been posting lately due to a busy life - at least a busy one for us. Two weeks ago, we were blessed to have Memaw and Papaw (Susan's parents) come to spend a few days with us. They further blessed us by letting the two of us run away to St. Louis for two days and a night. It was to celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss (well, mostly bliss) that started on June 17th, 2000.

Last week, Alexandra started Vacation Bible School and swim lessons. Samantha was a bit upset that she couldn't go too, but she got some one on one with us, so that helped. To say that Alexandra enjoyed VBS would be a vast understatement. She had SO much fun and learned so much about God's Word. The swim lessons are going well, especially since Alexandra has not had much experience in the water. She is no longer scared of her head going underwater, at least for an instant. She can also float on her back for about 2 seconds by herself. And all this just happened in one week. Who knows what the next week will bring???

Samantha is Samantha - she has started "sleeping in" till 6 or 6:30 most mornings. It's been nice. Sometimes, with how articulate Samantha is, we forget that she is only 2. But she lets us know with all of her big emotion. Sometimes, she is just too little to contain all of the emotions that she is feeling.

We are having a heat wave right now - heat index of 100. John isn't allowed to drive his car (by my orders) due to lack of air conditioning. John has a conference coming up that he is working hard to complete some research to present. He also had another paper published in a journal. Hopefully, we can all stay well this summer and he can research till the cows come home (or the students in this case). Thunder is rolling outside right now - a welcome noise, for rain brings relief from the heat and means that we can go play outside. There is nothing like a good afternoon rainstorm.

Here is slideshow of different pictures from the past two weeks - enjoy!

Awww. I like the pictures and the glimpse into your life. Glad you're feeling better. I like a quiet weekend after a busy week too. :)
