Bits of this and that

Well, the audience has spoken! I will try to put in some posts in between lots of pictures of the girls. The new camera will help with the pictures. Here are some more bits of information about us:

1. Samantha loves purple and her favorite number is two. She really enjoys that she can make two with her fingers. Also, she is very proud that she is two.
2. Alexandra's favorite color (bar none) is pink. In her world, everything should be pink. She often tells us stories about her pink house with a pink driveway and her pink car.
3. John is an amazing husband and dad. I know that I have said this before, but truly, that man rocks. He chases our girls around to make them laugh and takes Samantha to the bathroom during dinner almost every night to give me a break. I am typing this as he is getting Alexandra ready for bed.
4. I started taking a new supplement for my fibromyalgia pain - it seems to be working, except when the weather changes.
5. Oh - big news, well at least for us. John's brother and his family are moving back to St. Louis! In fact, by the time this will be published, they will there. This is exciting for us. This is the closest (2 hours) that we have ever had family live in our married life. The girls really like their cousins which is also nice.
6. On Saturday, we are headed to an equine center for a birthday party. Don't worry, there will be pictures coming. Hopefully the girls won't be too freaked out by the horses.

If you ask how we are doing, my reply would be okay. We are having good days and bad days just like everyone else. But there is a contentment to our days given by the Lord that is amazing, at least when I stop to ponder His goodness. We will always have clean laundry waiting to be put away or folded, clean or dirty dishes waiting to be put away and books everywhere. The girls hear about crazy math things at the table, like partial differential equations. And John and I hear about pink houses and the adventures that the girls' dolls go on. John has a job that he really likes (at least when his students are trying) and we are starting to make deeper friendships.

That was always the hardest part about moving, the making of friends, true friends. I have a Bible study with just a few women that has just been blessing the socks off of me and we have found a good Sunday School class. Sometimes it's hard being a Presbyterian at a Baptist church, but we hear the Word preached and that is what matters most. We are also in a body of believers that believe in living the Gospel as much as preaching it. We have really enjoyed being a part of a church that has such a heart for our community. It has stretched us and is helping us teach our children about those that might need help. In fact, we are getting ready to fill our boxes for Operation Christmas Child and the girls are excited. They like picking out little things for "their girl" far away.
