We are under attack from underground - the 13 year cicadas are hatching. We have seen a few here and there, but now, every morning, we find at least 20 shells attached to our back door and the girls' playhouse. Samantha thinks the shells are great to pick up as long as her sister doesn't freak her out. I have to admit the cicadas creep me out and the sheer number of shells is daunting and John tells me that this is nothing, the worst is to come. I am thankful that we weren't here 13 years ago when the 17 and 13 year cicadas were out at the same time. For all you bug people out there, click on the pictures to see the cicada really, really big.
