Adoption - oh the beauty!

Some friends of ours just adopted a boy from Ethiopia who is 6 months old- he is their fourth son. They also have a 5 year old, an almost 3 year old and a 4 month old baby. Their story has touched me in a way that I can not describe. Another friend (who is the mom's sister) posted about the homecoming from Ethiopia. All the family that could be at the airport was there to meet the newest member of the family. In the blog, she also said the statement "Noah, an orphan no more". I was struck by the parallels of Noah's story with the Gospel.

We are orphans no more due to the grace of God. He has adopted us into His family and put His mark upon us. He chose me and made me His child! Oh the joy.... And all of God's family is there waiting for us, to welcome us to the family, to make sure that we know how much we are wanted and loved.
From Romans 8
14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry,"Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"

The Lord has claimed us as His - adopted us for no other reason than He loves us. And no matter what occurs, His grace and love are ever constant - refining us and drawing us closer. He will never forsake us - His children.

From Isaiah55
15
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.

We are engraved upon His hands...what joy that brings!

Thank you, Susan. It was very sad that you were not here when we came back...and then your message was on our machine and it was even sadder. We miss you dearly.
