John is on the hiring commitee for his university. He has learned about hiring freezes that are taking place across different states or universities that are just not hiring at all for next year due to the current encomy. We have been struck by the fact that the Lord has blessed us greatly. We were able to get a job and a good permanent job. If we had needed to wait one more year, we would not have been able to get such a good job. We were also blessed to buy a house (and not have to sell one) during a good time. We are amazed time and time again with how we see the Lord's hand upon our family. We have two children who are healthy, we have a wonderful house, good job security, and a host of other blessings. But above all, God has given us Himself and for this we are most thankful.
